‘Belonging to one’s own particular locality or country: homegrown talent’
The impetus for Home Grown came from conversations with teachers, parents/carers and educators who believe that intelligent, creative individuals are often sidelined or somehow ‘invisible’ because of a lack of self confidence, resulting in the most needy not fulfilling their potential. Home Grown offers a way for those creative individuals to be ‘seen’ and their talent nurtured.
Through a series of physically demanding and mentally challenging exercises they are equipped with the skills needed to succeed in the creative industries. The results have been heartening and inspiring resulting in the formation of a community of young people, and teachers, with improved self-belief and creative skills.
