The Hothouse program offered 600 transatlantic students and teachers the opportunity to develop a range of creative critical thinking skills.

This whole day event explored the practicalities of staging a production with a particular emphasis on how to begin the rehearsal process. Theatre professionals trained by the Kevin Spacey Foundation began the day with a physical theatre workshop ensuring students were ‘light on their feet’ and comfortable in the space. A voice warm up followed focussing in particular on articulation and vocal dexterity. A series of breathing exercises ensured the requisite projection and clarity needed to fill the space. A read-through of a contemporary text cast with a mixture of schools students and professional actors allowed for a robust discussion around character and theme. The day culminated in a series of performance opportunities, feedback and a career Q & A.
