Today we were interviewing shortlisted applicants for KSF Artists of Choice: Canada Musical Theatre Category. Below you can read about the high level industry professionals who worked with us on the selection panel to uncover some of the best new talent working in the Canada Musical Theatre industry today.
Jennifer Copping is an actress, singer, dancer and director. Her theatre credits include: Funny Girl; White Christmas and Godspell (The Arts Club), Anne Of Green Gables (Charlottetown), Les Miserables (Mirvish), Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat ( Livent). Film and Television credits include: The Confirmation; Fargo; Van Helsing; and Becoming Redwood, winning a Leo Award for Lead Actress in a Feature Film.
Janet Gigliotti is an actress and singer whose theatre credits include: Mamma Mia! (Mirvish), Les Misérables, Godspell, Christmas Story, (Arts Club), Guys and Dolls, Buddy Holly (Chemainus Theatre), My Way (Globe Theatre), Sandra in Big Fish (Confidential Musical Theatre), Oklahoma (Port Hope), Frog & Toad (Carousel). Film and television work includes: Arrow (2016), A Bride for Christmas (2012), and Kidnapped! (2014).
Stephanie Hargreaves is the Artist Liaison at the Arts Club Theatre Company, facilitating the casting of hundreds of artists for its three theatres. Stephanie is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a Master of Arts in English Literature. Stephanie is frequently asked to adjudicate auditions and to give workshops on audition techniques.
KSF Artists of Choice is a pioneering funding and mentoring initiative for UK, US and Canada based emerging artists working in theatre, musical theatre, dance or film. Epitomizing KSF’s aim of ‘sending the elevator back down’ it will provide funding, year-round support and mentoring by industry heavyweights.
