KSF Artists of Choice: US Music Selection Panel

This morning we met with the shortlisted applicants for KSF Artists of Choice: US Music Category. We were thrilled to be working with some exciting established music industry professionals who had kindly agreed to join our selection panel. Read more below:

Gregg Field is a seven time Grammy winner, including Latin Grammy “Producer of the Year” recipient, Concord Records Gregg Field is one of the most diverse and highly sought-after producers, musicians and educators in music. He has collaborated with many artists who have shaped the musical landscape including Barbara Streisand, Michael Buble, Mariah Carey, Frank Sinatra, Quincy Jones, Andrea Bocelli, Christina Aguilera, Tim McGraw, Jason Mraz, Stevie Wonder, BabyFace, Ray Charles, Alejandro Fernandez, Seal, Gloria Estefan, Jeff Beck, Herbie Hancock, Count Basie, Barry Manilow, Robbie Williams, Placido Domingo and Ella Fitzgerald.

David Handler is a composer of acoustic and electronic music and the co-founder of (Le) Poisson Rouge and the Founding Executive & Artistic Director of Ensemble LPR. The venue’s mission is to revive the symbiotic relationship between art and revelry, thus invigorating the musical landscape for artists and audiences alike. In its six years of operation the venue has received numerous awards and accolades, from ASCAP, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone and The New Yorker. His orchestral piece Solstice commissioned by the Naumburg Foundation, will be premiered by Ensemble LPR in Central Park on June 30, 2015.

Mr Reed has performed on the many great stages of New York City, including within his hometown of East New York, Brooklyn; and on the subway platforms, of New York City. He has acted in, written original music, lyrics, score, and co-written treatments for commercials for major brands and performed on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. He is dedicated to community- based outreach through public performance and booking artists for events within and outside of his community of East New York, Brooklyn. These organizations include ARTs East New York, the International Coalition of African Fashion, and the Brooklyn Arts Council.

KSF Artists of Choice is a pioneering funding and mentoring initiative for UK and US based emerging artists working in theatre, musical theatre, music, dance or film. Epitomizing KSF’s aim of ‘sending the elevator back down’ it will provide funding, year-round support and mentoring by industry heavyweights. Once we’ve completed shortlist interviews in the UK and the US, we hope to announce our award recipients by early July.
