About This Project

Out of his Misery is a short comedy film set in rural Ireland. When eight-year-old Cal mistakenly believes his parents are planning to murder his senile Granddad, Cal takes it upon himself to save the day.

Out of his Misery was created by Megan Devaney (writer/director), Finbarr Crotty (producer), Eileen Timmons (cinematographer), Rob Flynn (sound designer), Ian Burke (editor) and Caoimhe Valerio (production designer). Through their student work together at the National Film School of Ireland they have garnered acclaim at both national and international film festivals and are excited to be able to work together again on this project.

See them talk about their project here.

“We’re very honoured to be supported by the Kevin Spacey Foundation Artists of Choice Award, it is giving us the chance to not only improve our skills as storytellers but also to work on a project that we care about.”
