About: Manchester based What A Little Bird Told Me Theatre staged their first production ‘Colder Than Here’ by Laura Wade, directed by the award winning Alyx Toyle, at The Kings Arms in autumn 2014. The company is dedicated to bringing Manchester audiences more female representation by producing plays that do this subtlety, where the writing is at the heart of the work and female roles are normalised.

Outcomes: Following the success of the company’s first production Colder Than Here, What A Little Bird Told Me Theatre has been offered to remount the play as part of the annual Re:Play festival which is curated by HOME one of the most respected theatres in Manchester (previously The Library Theatre.) Colder Than Here will also be part of Oldham Coliseum’s First Break Festival in March 2015.

“Being able to say that KSF had chosen to support our project also gave us credibility, which is very valuable to us as a new company. This credibility also meant that we were also able to attract a very high standard of creative individuals to be part of our team.”
