About: The project goal is to bring Sophia Heinecke’s new work “Going To Market” to The Actors Theater Workshop in Midtown Manhattan. The play is set in the early 1990’s in the Hunt’s Point section of the Bronx and follows a young father on the run from the law who ends up with a job at the Hunt’s Point market. This play has a diverse cast reflective of the real population of New York and the Bronx, and explores the conundrum of how ex cons, especially single fathers, must support their families under current societal and systematic restraints.

Outcomes: Going To Market had a week long run at the Actors Theater Workshop Inc in New York.
