Balancing the high expectations of the previous generation, the doctrines of their Muslim community, and the demands of secular Western culture, the recently married Azeem Bhatti and Saima Khan struggle to straddle the gap between their Pakistani heritage and their British upbringing.
An Ordinary Muslim is playwright Hammaad Chaudry’s professional debut, being produced in early 2018 as part of the New York Theatre Workshop’s 2017/2018 season, directed by Jo Bonney.
