About: A feature length film, Hi-Lo Joe appears to be a romantic comedy, Joe meets Ellie they fall in love and move in together. However, things start to disintegrate as it becomes clear Joe is hiding the fact he is suffering from depression. A hugely ambitious project, the film was shot on the Arri Alexa camera (Skyfall, Gravity), with a cast of 80, full crew, 16 locations, jib, crane and steadicam shots. The film is about the creator’s own experience of suffering from depression. The aim is to produce a film that those who feel misunderstood can understand and to help others better understand what suffering from depression means.
