How Was Your Week?

About This Project

Jenni Halton, Director

About: A scratch performance of a new physical theatre / dance piece based on synaesthetic perceptions of time. Synaesthesia is a common but little-acknowledge condition which causes people to ‘see’ numbers, letters, days of the week in particular colours, textures and characters. The performance took place at the Cockpit Theatre, London in February 2014.

Outcomes: The scratch performance received very positive feedback. The piece was performed by two visually impaired actors, which added an interesting dimension to the idea of ‘seeing’ days of the week or months as colours and added to the debate about Synaesthesia. A video of the scratch performance has been presented at the UK Synaesthesia Association Conference and the hope is that the piece will tour to festivals and studio theatres in 2015.

“Without the KSF grant we would have been unable to get the project off the ground as we had no other start-up funding.”
