A New Man

About This Project

Hughes William Thompson, Director

About: A New Man follows a man who starts the routine of having breakfast every morning at the same coffee shop after his wife leaves him in hopes of starting his life up again. One morning he is mistaken for somebody else, and instead of correcting the stranger, he assumes the role of the other person. This goes on for a number of subsequent occasions, each time allowing the man to become somebody completely new.

Outcomes: A New Man was submitted to various high profile film festivals and won The Cannes Lions Young Director Award 2014.

“I was elated to receive the KSF grant. The grant covered almost 80% of our production costs and really freed me up as a director to focus on the creative elements. The production would not have been possible without it.”
