About This Project

Katherina Radeva, Director

About: A two-week research and development period for a new theatre show from Two Destination Language concluding in a presentation at Bristol Old Vic’s Ferment. The piece is about men. And women. Being a man, though, is something else. You can man up. You have to, when your team’s a man down. Stand and take it like a man. The piece considers men and power. Bruce. Clint. Maggie. Sheds and tea. Heavy machinery and pocket gadgets. And watching.

Outcomes: KSF’s support enabled Two Destination Language to spend concentrated time developing ideas for the project and to gather feedback from well-informed audiences and producers. This has given them the confidence to move forwards with the piece, and useful information about the effectiveness of different aspects of the work. With mentor, Philem McDermott, providing guidance, the project is now being pitched to commissioning partners and will preview at the New Wolsey, Ipswich in September 2014.

“All this is possible because of the freedom KSF’s investment gave us: as artists working without regular income, this support is vital.”
