About: A live, one-hour immersive theatre performance exploring modern Britain today and the gaps that exist between people. Nina is a young Liverpool woman on a London tube carriage. When the carriage shudders to a halt, it’s obvious something serious has happened. Trapped, Nina and her fellow passengers have to talk, with dramatic consequences. Mind the Gap follows the stories of Nina, Darren (a young African-Caribbean Londoner), Piotr (a homesick Polish man) and Faisul (a mature student from Bangladesh), as their internal and external thoughts are shared and their interlocking stories unravel.
Outcomes: ’Mind the Gap’ was critically well received. Pimento Theatre Company is in discussions with the Unity Theatre with regards to how the show could garner further funding and go on a nation-wide tour. Pimento Theatre is now a much more firmly established theatre company and has a dialogue with a greater range of theatres across the Northwest.
“The grant allowed us to deliver a well-crafted professional show that would not have been possible without the comprehensive technical support the grant allowed us.”
