About: World Street Dance: The Roots is an innovative, new showcase performance that is part of an annual project, ‘Pioneers: A History of Dance’. The project will showcase different cultural street dances from around the world. Ultimately, as well as entertaining, this show aims to re-educate audiences about the true essence of what ‘street dance’ really is; a dance born within different cultures where communities express themselves through that art form.

Outcomes: Following the success the new dance show, the company plan to include ‘World Street Dance: The Roots’ into the festival program every year moving forward. The response received from this show was phenomenal proving that there is a demand for audiences to engage with work offering a unique cultural experience.
